Gran Turismo 5 Uses Sony Move Controller
< It has been confirmed that Gran Turismo 5 and Split/Second Compatible will be compatible with Sony's new motion controller.
There has been a lot of talk about the new Sony Move controller and which games it will actually have functionality with and now we know that it will have 'some' functionality with a few of the high-profile car racing games. Amongst several others this includes the Gran Turismo 5 game which will be released this November (2010) in the UK.
Back in March 2010 at Sony's big move show at the GDC, it would appear that Sony 'forgot' to include a couple of
their Move Controller compatible games out of the demonstration. We are not sure why this would be and can only assume
it is because the games were not beyond the testing phase and there was the potential to find some bugs, which Sony
could not afford to do.
Recent new on the official Sony Move website lists several games that will have 'Move' functionality built in. The website says that Gran Turismo 5 (GT5), ModNation Racers and Split/Second will all be Move compatible when they are released and the new motion controller is released.
It is worth pointing out that the games (including GT5) are detailed as being 'compatible' and it does not say how much functionality will be built in. It would be fair to assume that it could be used as a way of steering the cars and / or power sliding but this is only guess work. The only other way we can see the move controller as being used may be during track editing in the ModNation Racers or in the Garage in Gran Turismo but this may be to elaborate.
The new Gran Turismo 5 game is already available for pre-order and is finally released in November 2010.
