Gran Turismo 5 Prologue

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue was released over a year ago and is the most recent edition of the Gran Turismo game series. The exclusively title 'Gran Turismo 5 Prologue' is a PlayStation 3 exclusive title which was first announced it would be released E3 show way back in 2007.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is essentially a cut down version of the game that developers out on the market for feedback and testing (amongst other reason). Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is pretty much a precursor and snippet of the planned Gran Turismo 5 which Polyphony Digital plan to release in November 2010 (UK). Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will replace Polyphony Digital's current Gran Turismo HD Concept game.

The 'Prologue' part of the GT5 title is simply a self-reference to the previous Gran Turismo 4 Prologue game which was on sale around a year before the final version of GT4 was released. The game name has somewhat been modified as since 3rd October 2008 this particular computer game has been known as 'Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Spec III'. The reasoning (and yes there is reason behind it) is that this is version 3.0 of the Gran Turismo 5 Prologue software's version 3.0 title. Gran Turismo 5 Prologue has proved extremely popular and since it was release, over 4 million copies of the game have been sold worldwide.

GT5 Prologue is a cheap version of the final game. It is more than simply a trial game or a demo game and was originally released on December 13th 2007 in Japan as part of the 10 year anniversary of the Gran Turismo series. Shortly after the GT5 game was released it was quickly followed by a version of the game that was translated into Chinese and was released round South East Asia on 1st February 2008 via the online PlayStation Store. It was also released on the new Blu-ray Disc on February 15 2008.

The latest update of the Gran Turismo 5 Prologue game which is called 'Spec III' was more of a addition to the Gran Turismo 5 Prologue II game. in GT5 III there were some new additions added to the game including new BGMs, various new cars and some upgraded cars. There were a some significant improvements to the overall game structure as well as the game play. Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Spec III now has a 16-player compatibility mode where online racers can compete in 70+ different cars, 6 different circuits making a total of 12 different courses. For the first time ever the game now has a frame rate of 60 frames per second during races and the fantastic and renowned replays are displayed at 30 frames per second. In terms of sound the game uses LPCM 7.1ch high definition sound.
