Gran Turismo 5 Summary

Gran Turismo 5 has been created exclusively for the Playstation 3 (PS3). The company behind Gran Turismo 5, Polyphony Digital, have created the world's most realistic, true to life and comprehensive driving experience to users of the game. GT5 is without doubt one of the most eagerly awaited games of 2010 and possibly this century.

In the most recent of the Gran Turismo series, known as GT5, there are now more than 1000 licensed cars from the majority of the world's top brand and manufacturers. The number of circuits you are able to race on has also been increased to over 20 tracks. In GT5 There are more than 70 variations of these tracks and includes the famous world circuits, city courses, and many other new and exciting environments for you to thrash your cars around.

Gran Turismo 5 features more exciting gameplay and modes to suit newcomers than ever before so you don't have to be a Gran Turismo pro to be able to ejoy this game. At the same time there are plenty of differences to make it a totally new and interesting game for automotive enthusiasts, and seasoned GT fans. In this game, GT5 has definitely raised the level on the franchise's depth of content up to a new level, unseen in any driving game before on any console. GT5 has unparalleled visuals which as you are playing you will find are difficult to distinguish from a real live race. As with all GT games, Gran Turismo 5 reflects the realism of ther cars you drive. Unlike the earlier Gran Turismo games all cars in GT5 will now feature real-time visual damage with adaptive and accurate car deformation all which reflects the actual point of impact and variues depending on the speed of the crash.

For the first time ever in a Gran Turismo game, in GT5 there will be a in depth and interactive online and community function. Players of Gran Turismo 5 will be able to progress to a new unseen level and earn points / credits through a wide range of game modes, such as the License Tests , Championship Races, GT Career Mode and many more. Alternatively you can simply explore the range of different circuits and courses in the standard Arcade Mode. GT5 will allow players to race online with up to 16 players through PlayStation Network.

News // There will be 2 versions of Gran Turismo: A-Spec and B-Spec!

In an official announcement from Sony at Gamescom, it has been revealed that when you buy GT5 there will be two versions on the game disc.

The first version of the game will be known as Gran Turismo 5 A-Spec. The A-Spec version of the game will give the gamer as near as possible real racing simulation experience. This is where everything about the game has been designed to be as real and life like as possible.

The second version of GT5 which is called, not surprisingly GT5 B-Spec will be quite different to the A-Spec racing simulation. The difference being that the B-Spec will be a racing simulation RPG experience.

In a interview with NowGamer, Sony finally revealed the truth behind a long lost mystery in the gaming world and one that has bugged budding racing drivers for several years. When asked why was GT3 officially called Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec, Sony replied by saying that the creator of GT3 - Kazunori Yamauchi - originally wanted to release a B-Spec version of the game alongside the A-Spec one. Sadly this idea was never put into practice and funding was not made available.

The official tag line or sales pitch of the B-Spec game is 'Gran Turismo 5 B-Spec places the player as a racing team director'. This means that you take on more of a managerial role, similar to Championship Manager Football Game. With this gamers are able to sign up new / exiting drivers and buy cars to enter into various exciting tournaments. You can put your racing knowledge and experience into practice and give strategy, tactics and try different car setups.

In GT5 B-Spec there is a command View which allows players to keep an eye on every race that takes place and hand out your specific driving tips, tricks and tactics to each of your drivers as the various races unfold. Every command you make will have some effect, probably both positive and negative. It can effect a drivers physical and mental condition as well as causing frustration, focus, agitation, impatience and least of all.. Anger.

So there we have it, that is what GT5 A-Spec and B-Spec versions have in wait for us. Roll on November 2010!

GT5 Tracks and Cars

The latest game in the Gran Turismo series is GT5. This updated game will include over 20 different race tracks and locations. Out of the 20+ tracks on the Gran Turismo 5 game there are 70 different circuits or variations of the tracks. The main guy who is in charge of Gran Turismo and in particular GT5, Mr Yamauchi, has previously said that Gran Turismo aims to include the 1,000 car milestone in the future however even at this late stage the actual number of cars to be featured in GT5 is still unknown however we do expect it to be between 950 and 1,000 cars. All the circuits on the game are real-life tracks and there is a HD video shot in 1080p which includes infomration about the course, the location and there is actual video footage of the circuit.

News // Gran Turismo 5 Release Update

Last year at the Tokyo Game Show in 2009 it was announced by electronics giant Sony, that the new Gran Turismo 5 game would be released and available to buy in Japan before the end of March 2010. Shortly after this news, Sony changed their schedule and announced that the launch date of the new GT5 game had been delayed for several months and that the new launch date was simple TBA (to be announced). Strangely and due to technical issues, Sony have since said that the currently unknown North American and European release dates will be unaffected by the issues that have affected the Japanese release date and this will go ahead as planned. Whilst it does seen strange that Gran Turismo 5 is not released in Asia first the delay is great news to GT5 fans in the UK and USA.Gran Turismo 5 Damage

News // Sony is Revving up Gran Turismo 5 for Official Launch in November 2010

In an announcement on Wednesday, Sony Computer Entertainment (the makers of GT5) officially announced that the GT5 game is ready and will be available to buy in November in the UK. Since the launch was delayed there have been roumers that there would be another last minute delay but these fears have been eradicated.

Gran Turismo 5 is the most recent version of the awsome driving simulator / car racing game for the PlayStation 3 (PS3) and a game that Sony are very proud of. The exact date for release in the USA is 2nd November at which point we also expect it to be launched in Japan.

Version 5 of Gran Turismo now has a 3D mode and users will be able to play the game on three dimensional TV's. IN a follow up press release a spokesman for Sony said.

'The popular video game was originally set for release in March, but in January Sony postponed the launch indefinitely, citing production-related factors.'

GT5 will be a great addition to the Grand Turiso series and add to the previous 55 million copies of the game sold since the first game was released back in 1997. GT5 is the final big version of the game to hit the UK market since December 2007.

News // Gran Turismo 5 - GT5 - Sense of Speed Improvement

In general, most car racing games including Gran Turismo have struggled to give the player a real sense of speed. Arcade racing games, virtual reality simulators both give the user a feel of movement and speed like you get in real life racing. In the early days it appeared that even Grand Turimo 5 wasn't able to do this but the most recent Gran Turismo 5 footage seems to have turned this on its head. The below GT5 Demo 24h Nuerburgring video shows a clip from GT 5 and looks like a huge improvement on the previous Gran Turismo Games.

In this video Of GT5 shown on YouTube it shows a long 8m+ clip of the Nurburgring 24-hour circuit demo taken directly from the game. The actual source of the video is unknown but looks 100% genuine. In this Gran Turismo 5 clip it shows a player driving a Lexus car out for a drive around the track. This demo clearly shows GT5's new and improved driving physics. In actual fact this looks like someone who has played a lot before because they post a very competitive time after driving the Lexus at extreme speeds around the track.

We cannot be 100% sure why they are able to post such a good time, maybe it is the standard of the driver or the new camera view but GT 5 does seem to give the viewer a real sense of speed. Have a watch and let us know what you think about the new GT5 game!

Gran Turismo 5 Full Game

When we talk about the 'Full Game' of Gran Turismo 5 what do we mean?

Gran Turismo 5 prologue has been around for several months now and it has been a great success. It was decided to release GT 5 prologue around a year before the release of the full GT5 game to give people a sniff at what they can expect from the full game. Gran Turismo 5 prologue is more than a demo game, but it is not the full game. It is somewhere in the middle. There are a range of different cars you can play with and a few of the main tracks but again it is not the full compliment that gamers will get in the Grand Turimo 5 full game. GT5 is a Great Xmas Present Idea

Christmas 2010 is just around the corner and we know that you will be starting to think about what to buy as a xmas present. If you are stuck for a present to buy then why not consider buying a copy of GT5. This is the most recent racing game in the famous racing series and is available on the PS3. The game has so many new features, circuits and modes that even if the person has a previous version of the game then this would still make a excellent Xmas present. Christmas is a time for sharing, What makes GT5 a even better is that it is a multi player game. You can get all your family and friends round to play the game together. Those dark and rainy nights when you haven't got much to do are no more with a copy of GT5 sat in the PS3. If you are looking at buying a copy of Gt5 for someone we would strongly reccomend pre-ordering a copy from a reputable outlet to ensure it is delivered in time for Xmas. The game is available at the beginning of November which is 6 weeks before Xmas day which should give you loads of tie to get the game, wrap it up and stick it under the tree in time for the big day.

We do not expect that GT5 will be sold with a PS3 in a "bumper pack" until early 2011 so if you havent got a PS3 and reallt want a copy of the game then you may have to wait until next year before you can buy them together.

If you buy a computer game for someone for Xmas make sure you keep the receipt. This means that even if they don't like the game or if someone else buys them the same game they can take it back and swap it for another. GT5 is going to be really popular over the Christmas period and it is likely that many people will buy a copy for family and friends so duplicate copies are inevitable.

Gran Turismo 5 Damage

The latest driving game to hit the UK, Gran Turismo 5, is the first game out of all the previous Gran Turismo games and franchises which accurately portrays real damage to the car. Gran Turismo 5 simulates both mechanical damage to the car (such as the engine, brakes etc) as well as detailed external damage simulation. Makers of GT 5 have even managed to replicate real-time deformation of different components of the engine which vary depending on the velocity, angle of impact and even depending on what you hit (moving vehicle, post, wall etc).

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue

Gran Turismo 5 PrologueGran Turismo 5 Prologue was released over a year ago and is the most recent edition of the Gran Turismo game series. The exclusively title 'Gran Turismo 5 Prologue' is a PlayStation 3 exclusive title which was first announced it would be released E3 show way back in 2007.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is essentially a cut down version of the game that developers out on the market for feedback and testing (amongst other reason). Grand Turimo 5 Prologue is pretty much a precursor and snippet of the planned Gran Turismo 5 which Polyphony Digital plan to release in November 2010 (UK). Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will replace Polyphony Digital's current Gran Turismo HD Concept game.

Full list of cars is available on a Gran Turismo 5 Car List page.

Gran Turismo 5 in HD

we all know that doing any task in more detail takes longer. Well creating games in high definition also takes a lot longer than normal but the end result is well worth it.

Since it was announced that Polyphony Digital will be craeting Grann Turismo 5 in HD there has been a lot of attention around the proposed changes. In the last game in the Gran Turismo Series, GT4, on average each car in the game was made up of a little over 4,000 polygons. The more polygons there are the better quality the image will be. You may remember really old racing games where cars had square edges, well Gran Turismo has taken this to the next level. Whilst there has been no official news, it is believed that cars in the Gran Turismo 5 game are going to be made up of more than 200,000 polygons. Having to code this many polyons for around 1000 cars is time consuming but were looking forward to seeing the smoothness of the cars and tracks when Gran Turismo 5 is released in November 2010

GT5 Cheats

Gran Turismo 5 and GT5 Prologue has a wide range of tips and cheats built into it. These cheats are all there to either give you some kind of bonus or unlock a hidden feature within the game. Gran Turismo 5 on the PSP

As with previous versions of the racing simulator, GT 5 will be available to buy on the PSP. There is no official release date for the PSP but we expect it to be available early 2011. GT 5 Prologue has been a good appetizer for what this driving simulator will offer, it is a fantastic driving experience, espectially if you have other racing fans to play against.

So what is GOOD about Gran Turismo 5 on the PSP?

GT 5 has a overwhelming collection of the Past, present and Future in terms of cars. As with previous PSP Turismo games there is everything on there from Toyota Pirus to supercars. You obviously start at the bottom of the pile and work your way up the series until you can afford any car. Turismo on the PSP has a way of keeping you playing the game by having almost 1000 cars to choose from. Thats hours of fun on the PSP.

Many gamers say that the car handling is second to none and it is the most realistic handling experience in any game.. ever! Sony have done a fantastic job with the AI and the new damage recognition and modelling that they have included is quite amazing. ON top of this there are loads of different tracks and circuits for you to race and practice on. There is a new drifting mode which adds a new dimension to the game and it is really fun on the PSP.

Gran Turismo 5 - Final Thoughts

Gran-Turismo-5.info have had a first preview of the soon to be released GT5 game and... ITS GOOD!
